The Inter-Provincial Mathematics Olympiad is an annual event taking place in September each year. Provinces from all round the country enter teams of 10 into a Junior and a Senior division. Provinces are allowed to have multiple Junior and Senior teams. Each team consists out of 10 individuals. The event is held locally on a Saturday between 14:00 and 18:00. The event consists out of two papers each an hour in length - an Individual MCQ paper and a team paper, where only solutions are required.
This year the IPMO will be held on Saturday 12 September. The Western Province and Boland teams will provisionally be writing at the University of Stellenbosch.
Everyone receives T-shirts to be worn on the day. Certificates are awarded to each participant.
The Western Province teams will be selected from the UCT Maths Circle Members. Membership is also extended to those who cannot attend the weekly sessions but are willing to commit themselves to work through and participate via the website.
